Second Birthday Extravaganza!
Phew! Wasn't Tuesday a hectic day for us all? But it was oh-so rewarding! Our
second birthday party is over now, and we had a great day. We celebrated with plenty of our regulars and made lots of new friends, too. Thanks to all of our customers who made the day so much fun - we (literally!) couldn't do it without you guys!
Our day started off with a visit from 621 Spirit Radio Road Runner, who came to give us a shout out and wish us a happy birthday. Thanks for the iced coffee, Spirit Radio, we definitely needed that caffeine kick!
At 10am we opened the doors to our second birthday with friends and family to wish us a happy day. The Retro Chic team celebrated with some cake and a lovely family photo (thanks to photographer Lynne).
Then came the youngest customer of the day - the handsome Mr CJ. He had a ball trying out all of our stock, playing with balloons (and eating choccies, but don't tell mum!), and reading to Miss Retro Chic. He even bought his favourite of the books with his own money. Thanks for the support, CJ!
The day passed quickly, and we loved seeing our favourite items walk out the
door with people who'll give them all lovely new homes and put them to good use. We had plenty of regulars stop by to wish us a happy birthday, and take advantage of our fantastic specials. We also made lots of new friends in new customers who were shocked they hadn't heard of us before! We hope to see you all again soon.
Finally, the day had to come to an end. Just before we were about to close the doors, the lovely David and Patricia stopped by to celebrate with us. David and Patricia are two of our regulars who love the items as much as we do. They brought along some champagne and other celebratory drinks for us all to share! Thanks so much for the thoughtful gesture, David and Patricia. It was lovely to round off the day with you both.
Now that our second birthday extravaganza is over, I would like to take a moment to get a bit emotional and soppy. Mr and Mrs Retro Chic started this business two years ago because they loved the items, and the history and memories they produced. It was certainly a risk. The economy was horrible, and probably the worst time to start a business. Dealers in the secondhand community told Mr and Mrs Retro Chic that we weren't going to last.
The Retro Chic team proved them wrong. Not only did we last, we thrived. Our business is so much fun and we've built a career, and a community, that we love. I couldn't be prouder of my parents for all the hard work, determination and love they have put into this business. Blood, sweat and tears have been shed these past two years - quite literally. But you guys did it. Miss Retro Chic is very proud of you, and proud to be a part of the team.
Whew - soppy moment over. Thanks for bearing with me! Moving on...
Do you know what the day after a big sale means? LOTS OF BRAND NEW STOCK! All new items have been posted to the Our Items page. Click HERE to view them, and as always, shoot us a message through the CONTACT US page to inquire.
That's all, folks! Thanks again for celebrating with us. Love, the Retro Chic team!
